The share of permits describing a roof replacement is computed at build time by matching the city's description text and is labeled as derived wherever it appears. Observations are append-only: if a scheduled update fails, the last known-good values are preserved and marked stale with the date they were last confirmed, rather than being shown as zero or blank.
